Introduction by Librarian

This book talks about the concept of courage, a fundamental value nurtured from early childhood. The author illustrates courage not merely as a response to extraordinary circumstances, but also as an essential quality demonstrated in everyday life.

Courage is not required solely in relation to major matters. While actions such as changing bad habits, climbing a big mountain, or attempting adventurous activities, like skydiving undoubtedly call for courage; various routine behaviors, such as greeting a friend, expressing one’s feelings, or keeping a secret also require a measure of bravery. Besides, some actions perceived as trivial by others, such as eating broccoli or trying a new hairstyle, may also represent significant emotional challenges for children, and courage is definitely essential.

From children’s perspective, every stage of development involves navigating uncertainties, overcoming hesitation, and adapting to new experiences which will test their confidence and resilience. Every stage of growth involves the exercise of courage. This book serves to facilitate children to understand the nature and importance of courage, and guides them to face challenges with confidence and a positive attitude.
